As Interim Cultural Programme Curator, I oversaw the delivery of multiple national creative and cultural programmes, focused on bringing leading arts and cultural activity to local high streets. From large-scale outdoor arts touring exhibitions to multi-genre participatory music, I worked to ensure best practice across Historic England’s High Streets Heritage Action Zones cultural programme.

As Interim Artistic Director, I oversaw the creative programme at Enfield’s Culture Palace, a temporary hub for local cultural & creative enterprises. I then supported and rebuilt the team to prepare for the reopening of The Dugdale Arts Centre, a fun and fabulous space in the centre of Enfield Town, creating, curating and producing the Enfield Culture Festival and reopening programme.

I worked with Youth Music to develop their strategy for 18-25 year olds and embed Youth Voice across their work. This included research & consultations with young people across the country, staff & board training and development of a new strategy. This resulted in their Incubator and Next Gen funds as well as young people joining the board of trustees.

I worked with the Barbican’s creative learning to develop a Youth Voice strategy, and embedd Youth Voice across the entire artistic teams. This resulted in the creation of their first ever Youth Panel.

Providing regular guest lectures, workshops and seminars on creative and cultural practice at Goldsmiths University, Westminster University, SOAS University of London, and the BIMM Music Institute. Supporting students to understand the opportunities within the arts and cultural sector, with a focus on music business, audience development, large scale arts participation, the subsided arts sector and funding models.

I work closely with PRS Foundation, supporting the delivery of their Open Fund, Women Make Music and International Showcase Fund.

As the lead for grassroots live music in London, I was central to the delivery of a £3.36m response package for grassroots music venues, saving 135 music venues.

The accelerated funding has been delivered by Arts Council England in under a month to help grassroots venues facing huge challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Venues could apply for emergency grants of up to £80,000 to cover on-going running costs incurred during closure, including rent and utilities.

Spearheading interventions to increase investment in contemporary music, Black-led projects and grassroots live music. These include training for ACE staff, training unsuccessful applicants, 1:1 mentoring and large scale workshops and seminars.

Highlights include a partnership with BBC Introducing, featuring a live case study with Grammy Nominated east Londoner NAO and DemiMa.

Following the events of Black Lives Matter in 2019, I co-founded Arts Council’s Black Staff Group, to better support the emotional and professional development needs of ACE’s Black staff.

This resulted in a bespoke programme of professional development, better networking opportunities and increased peer-to-peer support for staff across the country.

A national programme of live music promoting the UK's best emerging music acts through immersive live music experiences. Events at venues such as Bristol Beacon, the Roundhouse, Manchester’s Band On The Wall, working in partnership with ILUVLIVE, BBC Introducing, Music Venue Trust, Independent Venue Week and more

Partnership with digital artist Adam John Williams to create an immersive music experience taking audiences on a journey of homesickness. Through projection mapping, reactive programming and live music audiences are taken on an Alice In Wonderland style adventure at a gig.

As part of the first major exhibition of Syd Shelton’s photographs capturing one of the most intriguing and contradictory political periods in British post war history. Between 1976 and 1981, the movement Rock Against Racism was brought back to life with live music and poetry.

I designed and delivered Poet In The City Producers

Poet in the City Producers is a training programme for talented young creatives interested in producing events, provoking discussions, and driving campaigns to ensure young people have a stake in the future of poetry.

As part of the Poetry & Lyrics Festival, founded by Poet in the City, the name of this event, jointly referencing Maya Angelou and Nicki Minaj, represents the direction that feminism and hip hop are destined to take, together. The spotlight was on the work of three artists: Rasheeda Page-Muir, Shay D and Floetic Lara.

PinC Producers and RawMinds Ambassadors collaborated on a special late event – You Don’t Own Me. The Producers presented an event with the intention of being bold, bright and loud in the museum space. Featuring poets Rachel Long, Dean Atta and Madi Maxwell-Libby, and a performance from Pecs Drag Kings. The Ambassadors presented Truth Be Told Tours, alternate history tours of the Medicine Man exhibition.

A handpicked house band of some of Hip-Hop, Soul and R&B's most exciting musicians join poets and spoken-word artists on stage to jam out their poetry and challenge the state of society, featuring special guests Jordan Stephens & DYLEMA.

HOUSE OF RHYMES was the culmination of a Wired4Music Producers Programme. This saw a group of talented 18 to 25 year old develop and deliver event production skills by creating their own live music night with my support.

Far from another ‘music industry panel’, these events were open conversations and workshops between established music and culture sector professionals and Londoners in the early stages of their music careers, featuring speed networking with experts, in depth conversations and a chance for Londoners to meet each other.
